Conrad announces NPP’s new national committee for 2025–2028

Shillong, April 19: National People’s Party’s (NPP) national president and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma has announced the constitution of the national committee of the party for the tenure 2025-2028.

It may be recalled that Conrad K Sangma was re-elected unopposed as the national president of the NPP for the fourth consecutive term on March 15, 2025 in the organizational election of the party at the Constitutional Club of India in New Delhi. Alongside Sangma, Paknga Bage, former Arunachal Pradesh cabinet minister, was elected unopposed as the General Secretary (Organisation), and Dr. Mehtab Agitok Sangma, incumbent Gambegre MLA (Meghalaya), was re-elected as the party’s Treasurer.

The NPP supremo announced the names of the members of the newly constituted national committee of the party on April 17, 2025.

James P.K. Sangma, former general secretary (organisation), has been appointed as the national working president. The committee includes four national vice presidents: Agatha K. Sangma (Meghalaya), S.L. Kol (Madhya Pradesh), Vevoyi Wideo (Nagaland), and Pesi Jilen, MLA from Arunachal Pradesh.

National general secretaries appointed are Paknga Bage (organisation) from Arunachal Pradesh and Abhaya Kashyap (Law & Administration) from Delhi. The national secretaries include: Tapi Darang (MLA, Arunachal Pradesh), Dr. M. Ampareen Lyngdoh (MLA, Meghalaya), Samuel Sumi (Nagaland), and Saidul Khan (Meghalaya).

The executive members of the committee are: Washi Yalem (Arunachal Pradesh), Yura Mary (Arunachal Pradesh), Namgey Tsering (MLA, Arunachal Pradesh), Santa Mary Shylla (MLA, Meghalaya), Grace Mary Kharpuri (Meghalaya), Pyniaid Sing Syiem (Meghalaya), Ratika Yumnam (Manipur), W. (O) Sumati Devi (Manipur), Maibam Dhanabir Singh (Manipur), Md. Sazad Bhuiya (Manipur), Janghemlung Panmei (MLA, Manipur), Avitso Lcho (Nagaland), and Philip Lam (Nagaland).
