Shillong, Aug 14: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma changed the display picture of his social media accounts to the tricolour in the spirit of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also changed the display picture of his social media accounts to the national flag.

This comes days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged people to take part in the ‘Har Ganga Tiranga movement between August 13 and 15.

“In the spirit of the Har Ghar Tiranga movement, let us change the DP of our social media accounts and extend support to this unique effort which will deepen the bond between our beloved country and us,” Modi said on microblogging site X.

PM Modi also urged people to upload their photos with the tricolour on www.harghartiranga.com.

Independence Day celebrations will be marked by various events and activities across the country, including flag hoisting ceremonies, cultural programs, and parades. The ‘Har Ganga Tiranga movement’ aims to promote patriotism and unity among citizens as they proudly display the national flag during this significant time of the year.
