Amlarem, Nov 10: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma today announced that a Mini Secretariat will be sanctioned for Amlarem Civil Sub-Division.

He made the announcement while taking part in the opening ceremony of the year-long golden jubilee celebration of Amlarem Civil Sub-Division.

“We have discussed and decided that the Mini Secretariat will be sanctioned for Amlarem. Let me assure you that the sanction will be done as soon as possible, and I would like to see that the work starts within this one-year celebration period, where we will celebrate the initiation of the Mini Secretariat office right here in Amlarem. It is one of the oldest sub-divisions, and it definitely deserves a Mini Secretariat.”

He also informed that various welfare initiatives and public amenities will be upgraded in the Amlarem Sub-Division area. He announced that ₹16 crore has been sanctioned for the upgradation of the water supply system.

He further informed that, based on the request of the MLA, the government has approved funds for the construction of internal roads within Amlarem Sub-Division.

“I hope that within this one-year celebration period, the construction work for the internal road renovation will be completed,” he said.

He added that there are other interventions which will be worked out for the area, but for now, three major concerns of the Sub-Division are being addressed by the government.

He also announced a contribution of ₹20 lakh from the CMSG for the golden jubilee celebration.
