Assam: Locals rescue new born baby in Jorhat; police being investigation

Guwahati, Nov 14: A new born infant boy was abandoned at Kakatigaon locality in upper Assam Jorhat district.

However, the locals discovered the infant on Tuesday morning after hearing his crying and later rescued the infant.

According to reports, the baby was immediately admitted to the Jorhat Medical College Hospital (JMCH) for medical care.

The identity of the infant’s parents and the the circumstances leading to the abandonment remain unknown at this time.

“We have heard crying of baby and immediately rushed at the nearby field and spotted a infant which was abandoned by the parents. We immediately reported the incidents to police and taken the infant to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital,” said a local resident, who have rescued the infant.

According to doctors, the baby was in good health.

Meanwhile, Jorhat police have started an investigation into the matter.
