Shillong, Dec 7: Three young footballers from Meghalaya — Eiladki Ksoo, Ibashembha Khongsit and Ibadarihun Nongsiej — have been invited to participate in the trials for the Indian U-17 women’s national team to be held in Bangalore.
Their selection follows standout performances in the recently concluded Meghalaya Women’s State League. Eiladki and Ibadarihun featured for Laitkor, while Ibashembha represented Mawlum Tyrsad.
Meghalaya Football Association President Hamletson Dohling praised the trio, noting that their achievement reflects both their personal dedication and the rising profile of women’s football in the state. “It is encouraging to see young athletes stepping forward and taking their place on larger platforms,” he said.
Dohling encouraged the players to approach the trials with confidence, humility and a mindset open to learning. “Whatever the outcome, this opportunity is well deserved. Wishing them all the very best,” Dohling added.
