Itanagar, Aug 23: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen (Retd) K.T. Parnaik on Friday called on indigenous priests to safeguard their centuries-old traditions while aligning them with the needs of modern society.

Interacting with priests at Raj Bhavan, Parnaik stressed that rituals should be purposeful, scientifically sound, and socially beneficial. He underscored the need to document traditional practices for future generations and suggested setting up an institutionalised training and teaching centre for indigenous faiths in the state.

The Governor also urged priests to guide their communities toward living in harmony with nature, protecting biodiversity, and nurturing an environment-centric way of life.
