Shillong, July 15:Twenty-six Bangladeshi nationals and four Indian touts were apprehended by the border security force (BSF) near the international border in West Garo Hills District.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, alert troops of 22 Bn BSF Meghalaya intercepted three vehicles on Hill Road, Matchokpara, and subsequent verification revealed the presence of Bangladeshi nationals being facilitated by Indian touts.
The BSF’s prompt action and vigilance prevented the illegal infiltration and showcased their commitment to safeguarding national security.
The successful operation highlights the critical role of BSF in combating trans-border crimes and thwarting illegal infiltration attempts along the Indo-Bangladesh border.
