Imphal, May 13: Security forces on Monday apprehended two persons for their alleged involvement in the attack on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) office in Manipur’s Imphal East district.

The individuals have been identified as Haobijam Khumarjit (45) and Haobijam Mangangcha Singh, Naobi (41), both residents of Yumnam Khunou Awang Leikai, Imphal East.

The operation was launched jointly by Central security forces and Manipur Police.

According to reports, the mob attack took place in November 2024 and originated from Yumnam Khunou Awang Leikai, under the jurisdiction of Sagolmang Police Station in Imphal East district.

The two suspects who had allegedly played a key role in the attack had evaded police efforts to apprehend them.

Their arrests followed a call by Sohan Giri, founder and national president of the RSS, during the Chalo Manipur campaign held in Delhi on May 3, 2025.
