Shillong, Aug 11: A petrol bomb was lobbed at the bust of JN Bawri near Bawri Mansion in Shillong in the early hours of Sunday.
According to sources, the incident occurred around 4:00 AM when unknown miscreants allegedly threw the petrol bomb at the statue. The perpetrators also reportedly pelted stones at an ATM booth in Dhankheti, Shillong.
In response to the incident, the police personnel of Laitumkhrah Police Station and a forensic team are at the scene to conduct a thorough investigation.
Police are currently working to nab the culprits.
