Shillong, Mar 22: The State President of the National People’s Party (NPP) and Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong has expressed confidence in winning both the Tura and Shillong Lok Sabha Parliamentary seats.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, Tynsong stated that the party is gaining strength day by day, with many leaders from other parties joining and more expected to join soon.

“People are joining us every day; they have witnessed significant changes not only during MDA-I but also during MDA-II. We have focused on the overall interest of the state, which has attracted leaders from various denominations and parties to join us,” said the NPP state president.

When asked why other parties are joining the NPP, Tynsong mentioned the major development initiatives undertaken by the party and highlighted the stability of leadership within the NPP.

“We do not have misunderstandings among party leaders in the NPP. We are united; in the NPP, we consider ourselves not just a political party, but a family,” he added.

Tynsong said that the NPP’s strength and determination to win this election are evident from the influx of leaders from other parties joining the NPP before the Lok Sabha election, along with the party’s grassroots-level efforts.

“Our party leaders at the grassroots are actively engaging with every household to explain the importance of voting for the NPP… Therefore, we are confident of winning both the Shillong and Tura seats,” said Tynsong.
