Tura, Dec 8: As a way to motivate the Anganwadi Workers to perform their duties more diligently, the West Garo Hills District Administration distributed mobile phones to the workers on Friday.
The phone distribution was part of the Strengthening the MIS(Management Information System) on Nutritional and Health Status of Women and Children by Anganwadi Workers Programme, held at the District Auditorium, Tura.
The objective of this distribution of phones is to enable the Anganwadi workers to perform their duties properly in capturing information on population, etc.
The event was graced by Thomas A Sangma, Speaker of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, as the chief guest in the presence of Jagdish Chellani, Deputy Commissioner of West Garo Hills, among other officials.
