Shillong, Dec 6: Ka Sur ka bri u Hynniewtrep (KSKBUH) on Tuesday met Cyril Diengdoh, the Political Secretary government of Meghalaya, on the delay of the government to call Tactical Team 1 for explanation, which is responsible for the killing of former HNLC leader Cherishterfield Thangkhiew.

A member of the Sur ka Bri U Hynniewtrep, Thomas Passah said that the Political Secretary of the State government has assured that the process will be done as soon as possible. Passah also said that this is just an attempt from the State government to intentionally delay the matter so the people will forget about the ‘injustice’ done to Late Cheristerfield Thangkhiew.

“We want to make it very clear to the government, especially to the Chief Minister, that we have been fighting for Justice for the past one year now, we will not give up and we will keep pursuing the matter till it reaches a logical conclusion,” he said.

The KSKBUH leader further expressed that the government can finish the matter in a week if they really desire.

It may be mentioned that the KSKBUH has shown dissatisfaction with the One Man Enquiry Commission report by Justice Veiphei, that tabled on the floor of the House on September 9. It has demanded that the Tactical Team 1 should be punished as it was stated in the Inquiry that the Tactical Team 1 has used ‘excessive force’ while raiding the house of Thangkhiew which subsequently led to his death.
