5th Meghalaya Games | Day 3 | East Khasi Hills shuttlers clean sweep Badminton

Tura, Jan 17: The badminton arena witnessed East Khasi Hills’ remarkable dominance at the 5th Meghalaya Games on Wednesday, clinching all four gold medals in both the boys’ and girls’ categories.

In the girls’ singles competition, Netania T. Tariang emerged as winner, defeating her West Khasi Hills counterpart Shimtihum Lyngdoh. The bronze medals were secured by representatives from West Jaintia Hills (WJH) and West Garo Hills (WGH).

The duo of Netaniya and Caralinda Nongbri claimed victory in the girls’ doubles, overcoming Shimtihum and her partner Doreenzia Kharbani. Once again, WGH and WJH secured the bronze medals.

In the boys’ singles, Reynel Kharbuki showcased his skills by defeating fellow East Khasi Hills (EKH) athlete Stephan Marwein. The bronze medals were shared by participants from Eastern West Khasi Hills (EWKH) and Ri Bhoi.

Maintaining his winning streak, Reynel partnered with Pratham Majumdar in the boys’ doubles finals, securing a win against Banshabor Lamare and Lechan Suchiang. The bronze medals were distributed between Ri Bhoi and WGH.
