1st edition of North East Pride Cup kicks off in Shillong

Shillong, Sept 24: The 1st edition of the North East Pride Cup (NEPC) kicked off in Shillong on Saturday at Assam Rifles ground, Laitkor.

The first match was played between Sakat FC and St John’s School in which Sakat FC won the match 5-1.

The NEPC is being organized all across NE India in association with Assam Don Bosco University. In the city, the tournament was inaugurated by Dr. Lajja Ram Bishnoi, DGP Meghalaya, and Brig Surender Sharma, HQ DGAR at the Assam Rifles ground.


The tournament kick-started with the dignitaries passing their best wishes to the teams and the organizers for the tournament ahead.

The tournament is being conducted across 22 locations in NE India including 4 locations in Meghalaya – Shillong, Mairang, Tura, and Jowai.

The next leg of the tournament will be played in Mairang on the 29th and 30th of September.
